Moir organised the first ever COMBOS Basketball tournament this term, providing vital match practice for our teams at the start of the season in a fun, informal environment.
Our Junior School Boys’ team, led by Captain Aarish Hirdaramani, won their tournament, winning their group matches against CIS, the British School and Stafford easily, before defeating Stafford in the final. The Girls also played well in their tournament, before the students were entertained by an exhibition match, including all the coaches.
Our Middle School Boys topped their group after defeating Stafford 42-5 and overcoming tournament favourites, CIS, 10-6. With confidence high, they were unlucky to lose a close Semi-Final against the British School 9-12. Our Middle School Girls gained a lot of confidence by putting up a strong fight against two strong teams from British and CIS but lost both games.
Our Senior Boys defeated Stafford 31-5 and the British School 20-13 to reach the final. In a tight match, they pushed a strong CIS team all the way before going down 26-21. Our Senior Girls defeated British 11-7 in the Semi-Final but lost to CIS in the final.
