Children learn in bright, spacious classrooms that provide ample space for movement and creativity. Junior School classrooms are all over 550 square feet (more than 50 m2) and provide a lively and visually stimulating environment in which to learn, with colourful furniture and posters. Senior School classrooms are more than 600 square feet and have relevant, subject-specific resources. All classrooms are air-conditioned and have multimedia projectors to enable teachers to use interactive presentations and videos during lessons.

The Junior School Library provides a warm, colourful and welcoming environment to promote children’s love of reading through attractive displays of books and comfortable nooks for students to settle in and read. It contains both the latest age-appropriate fiction and extensive reference material on the topics studied by the students. Every student is helped to choose books to borrow every week and Early Learners to KG1 are given a special ‘Book Bag’ so that taking books home becomes a special event. The Senior Library provides workspaces for over 80 students to study independently as well as areas for them to sit to read. There are computers available for research as well as plug points and Wi-Fi for students with laptops.

There are two large Computer Rooms at the Senior School and one at the Junior School. Each has 25 new Lenovo ThinkCentre desktops with 24” ThinkVision monitors, and the latest software for applications from desktop publishing and web design to film and sound editing, graphics and animation. There is a third Computer Room in the Senior School designed for students to take on-screen exams on laptops. The Junior School uses Google Classroom as its educational platform, while the Senior School uses Microsoft Teams and students are given free Microsoft 365 accounts.

There are 8 large Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories (over 1250 square feet each) in the Senior School, all with new, custom-built lab benches and space for 24 students to conduct individual practical work. Each laboratory has separate teaching and practical areas to ensure that practical demonstrations and experiments can be incorporated into every class, not only set practical lessons. All three Chemistry laboratories have new fume cupboards. Sensors to detect gas leaks and emergency gas shut-off buttons ensure student safety. The Junior School Science Laboratory is designed to spark students’ curiosity, providing an environment where children can conduct hands-on experiments and make science truly come alive.

Robotics and Innovation Lab

A Robotics & Innovation Lab provides space and equipment for our award-winning Robotics team to design, build and test robots. The Discovery Room in the Junior School stimulates our youngest students’ development through a range of sensory experiences.

Creative & Performing Arts

Creative & Performing Arts

Morning Assembly is the centre of school life at both the Junior and Senior School, enabling the whole school community to come together. Our Assembly area provides covered seating for over 500 students, teachers and parents, along with a top-of-the-range sound system.

Large open-plan Art Studios in both the Junior and Senior School provide space for our budding artists to explore their creativity. A 300-seat black box theatre is under construction and, when finished, will provide a cutting-edge performance and event space, with flexible seating and state-of-the-art sound and lighting, accommodating plays, recitals, lectures and exhibitions. There are also separate Music and Drama Rooms in both schools, accommodating lessons as well as providing large rehearsal spaces.

The Dance Studio in the Senior School has a mirror wall and one of the only sprung wooden floors in Sri Lanka to provide support for our dancers. The Junior School Cookery Room enables our young chefs to make an array of enticing savoury meals and sweet treats.

Sports

Sports

The school premises were designed to provide as much space as possible for sport and provide world-class facilities for our teams. Almost all sports practices can take place in school, making life easier for parents and avoiding time being wasted taking students out of school

Two full-size basketball courts enable different squads to train at the same time. Both courts have FIBA standard basketball hoops. The indoor court also has an electronic scoreboard and four FIBA-approved hoops on the sides of the court so players can practise at the same time, without having to line up to shoot. There are also boys' and girls' changing-rooms, each with sixteen individual showers.

We are the only school in Sri Lanka with a synthetic, all-weather football pitch. The 50 x 35m pitch is the centre of school life and in constant use. It is used for training by all our football teams as well as being large enough for matches for younger teams.

A 25m outdoor swimming pool is used by both our Junior and Senior Squads, as well as Junior School swimming lessons. There are also two cricket nets for our cricket team. A pickleball court and table tennis table complete the facilities available.

Wellbeing

The Wellbeing Centre provides a welcoming environment for Senior School students to relax, in a supervised space, with games and comfortable seating, or speak to the Guidance Counsellor or one of the Student Counsellors in private. Senior School students also have access to a canteen operated by Tasty Caterers with an attractive covered outdoor seating area.

The Junior School has separate Infant and Junior play areas with beautiful, brand-new equipment and rubber matting to keep them safe.
