June 2026 : Under-13 Boys Retain Basketball Title; Girls Finish 2nd

In May, our Under-13 Boys’ team retained the Inter-International Schools’ championship they won last year. Comfortable victories in the group matches meant the boys qualified top of their group. Victories over AIS and Lyceum, Nugegoda took them through to the final. In the final, Captain Yuvan Embuleniya and his team comfortably defeated Lyceum International School, Wattala 30-19 to retain the trophy, with a series of baskets by Kai John helping to maintain their lead. Arayan Fernando was selected as Most Valuable Player of the tournament and Jett Tenduf-La Best Defensive Player.

Captain Saneli Perera should be proud of leading the Under-13 Girls to the final for the first time. The highlight was probably defeating Gateway College, Colombo 26-7 in the quarter-final. In the final against the British School in Colombo, the girls established a large lead at half-time, but British came back to seal a narrow victory in a match we probably should have won. Szofi Horvath was chosen as Best Offensive Player for her excellent performance throughout the tournament.

The Under-15 tournament is currently underway and both our Boys’ and Girls’ teams have already reached the semi-finals of their tournaments after some dominant performances. We hope some more silverware will be on the way soon.
