When I established Elizabeth Moir School in 1996, my vision was a school small enough for everyone to know everyone, allowing senior students to mix with junior students and teachers to form close bonds with each student. This has created the unique family atmosphere the school is known for and a community based on kindness, compassion, integrity and respect for others.
We believe that education should be fun so children enjoy coming to school and want to put their best into everything they do. The school has a wonderfully positive ethos, an environment where students encourage one another to try something new without the fear of failure; it is this which allows them to flourish in all areas of school life and to enter the outside world armed with self-confidence and humility.
Although we have a tremendous record of academic success in public examinations, we aim to provide far more than impressive grades. We are committed to stretching the minds of all our students, encouraging them to think for themselves, to lead others, to ask questions and to take responsibility.
