Elizabeth Moir School achieved the joint best results of any international school in the world, at both IGCSE and A Level, in 2025, according to internal research. 70% of all A Level papers were graded A* or A and 79% of IGCSE papers graded 8 or 9, the equivalent of the old A*. These were both the same as at Harrow International School, Hong Kong.
Students should be proud to have earned the school’s best-ever results: 70% of papers graded A* or A at A Level and 57% of papers graded 9 at IGCSE were both school records, excluding the post-Covid year when grade boundaries were lowered.
At A Level, fourteen students will receive Edexcel Awards for achieving 3 or more As, the same as last year, including Raveen, Keanu, Maarya, Senumi and Thisal, who all obtained 4 As. Over half the class achieved 3 As or better, which is remarkable. Minara is already guaranteed a World Prize for scoring 100% in IAL Economics and several other students are in the running for one. Students from this batch have already started courses at Oxford, Stanford, Imperial, UCL, LSE and three Ivy League colleges. Many of the top students from the class are taking gap years, applying to top ranked universities with their actual rather than predicted grades, which can be advantageous when they have done so well.
At IGCSE, seventeen students, one third of the class, will win Edexcel Awards for obtaining 7 or more 9s. An incredible nine students achieved 9s in nine or more subjects this year, including Maryam with ten 9s and Aleeza with nine, having already achieved two A*s.
– 58%, 9 (England average = 5.1%)
– 79%, 8-9
– One third of all students achieved 7 or more 9s including 15 with eight or more 9s
– 43/51 achieved a 9 in at least one subject
