International Schools Athletics Championship

With the International Schools Athletics Championship taking place at the end of February (close to the Junior School Play and Mock Exams), we are never able to send a large squad. The small team we sent this year, however, performed exceedingly well. Natasha Bakelmun finished 5th in both the 100m and 200m, and Manuukith Sivaram 5th in 200m and 4th in 100m, narrowly missing out on a medal in the blue riband event of the meet.

Moir Regains International Schools Football Trophy

Congratulations to the Under 19 Football Team who won this year’s Inter International Schools Football Tournament, regaining the trophy they won two years ago and avenging their defeat in last year’s final. It was the third year in a row that our team had faced tournament hosts Royal Institute in the final. All three finals have followed exactly the same pattern: each year we have taken the lead, only for the opposition to equalise and take the game to a penalty shoot-out. When the time comes to defend the trophy next year, our team will not have lost a game in the tournament for five years, as our two defeats in this time have both come on penalties.

Junior School Lead Futsal Success

For the first time this year, we were able to enter teams in five different age groups for the Futsal Tournament organised by St. Joseph’s College. The Junior School boys won four of their five games, despite it being the first time they had ever played a competitive game, with Kamille Le Berre scoring multiple goals. Our Under 13 and 15 teams acquitted themselves equally well, both qualifying for the Plate competition after winning most of their games to finish second in their groups.
