Staff Experiences

MR. RAVI NALLATHAMBY

Mr. Nallathamby teaches Science in the Junior School and is passionate about the subject. His aim is to inspire the same passion in the children he teaches.

I have been teaching at Elizabeth Moir School since 2000. If you were to spend a few days in this school you would find yourself saying, "there is something about this school".

If you stay long enough, you will put a finger on this unique and mysterious trait: an ethos that breeds confidence, both in and out of the classroom. I enjoy playing my part in this 'Magic' of Moir!

MRS. ANA THEODORO

Ms. Theodoro teaches Junior 3 and joined us in January 2013

Coming from Brazil, I feel completely at home in the diverse, multi-cultural community of Elizabeth Moir School and enjoy the opportunity to learn about the culture of Sri Lanka and the other countries my students come from. The small class sizes here help me to get to know all the children I teach and to give them the individual attention they need to enhance their learning experience. The huge amount of activities available to the students in school makes every day different for them and helps them develop into interesting, confident, well-rounded personalities.

Staff Vacancies

Elizabeth Moir School welcomes applications from prospective teachers throughout the school year. All Senior School teachers must have a degree while Junior School teachers should have either a degree or a Montessori qualification. Formal teaching qualifications are an advantage but not a requirement as there are ongoing training programmes for all teachers throughout the school year. Applicants are expected to have at least some experience teaching or working with children, although applications will also be considered from candidates looking to start a teaching career who have experience in other high-powered jobs. A high level of written and spoken English is required of all applicants and it will be an advantage to have studied or taught at a school following British syllabuses.

Visas can be arranged for expatriates but salaries are paid in Sri Lankan Rupees on a similar scale to Sri Lankan teachers. We regret that we are unable to provide packages to cover the expenses of spouses or children.

Please note that we are unable to respond to all applications.
