Almost, Maine

This term, the Senior School brought warmth and wonder to the stage with a captivating production of Almost, Maine by John Cariani, performed at the Kamatha New Theatre on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 February.

Set in a small, fictional town in northern Maine on a cold winter’s night, the play weaves together a series of tender, humorous encounters as residents experience the joys, heartbreaks, surprises and second chances that come with falling in and out of love. Though deceptively light in tone, this intricate series of vignettes demanded exceptional precision, comic timing and emotional range.

Our talented cast met the challenge with maturity and sensitivity, delivering nuanced characterisations and performances filled with authenticity and heart. The result was a polished, deeply engaging production that earned glowing feedback and heartfelt appreciation from all who attended – a wonderful achievement for everyone involved.
