Three Moir students were selected to represent Sri Lanka in the Asian Age Group Aquatics Championship in Thailand in July. Okitha Gunasekera was selected for the second time, having also taken part in the Philippines in 2024. Having broken the Inter-International Schools’ record for 200m Individual Medley in November, he swam almost five seconds faster in the trials, to become the 3 rd fastest Sri Lankan ever in the event. Mathew Abeysinghe’s National Record is now just three seconds off. He will also compete in 50, 100 and 200m Freestyle.
Danudi Wickramarathne will take part in 50m and 100m Breaststroke, the events in which she won a Gold and Silver medal in this year Inter-International Schools’ Swimming Championship and finished in 4 th place in the senior National Championships.
Sushen Wijesinghe was chosen to take part in the Diving after winning Gold in Platform, Silver in 1m Spring Board and Bronze in 3m Spring Board in the National Ag Group Diving Championships.
